The Clock That Runs Backward belongs to a quiet old hallway where an ornate grandfather clock has kept time for longer than anyone can remember. Its pendulum swings faithfully, its hands move steadily across the face, and everything seems perfectly ordinary.

Until midnight approaches.

According to the story, the hands creep closer and closer to twelve, only to stop moments before the final chime. Then, without explanation, they begin traveling backward. Hours unwind. The pendulum continues its steady rhythm. By morning, the clock is moving forward again as though nothing happened.

It has never struck midnight.

Candle Care

Trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch before each burn. For the first burn, allow the melted wax to reach the edges of the vessel to encourage an even burn and help prevent tunneling. Keep the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts and flammable materials. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep away from children and pets.

If you hear it strike twelve, you should probably be more concerned about where you are than what time it is.
