Statue of Icarus, son of the inventor Daedalus from Greek mythology. Escaping the labyrinth, he was warned not to fly too high or too low, but in his ambition and excitement, he flew to the sun and his wings failed him. The sculpture also conveys the theme of the fallen angel, like Lucifer in Milton's Paradise Lost.
