White Hound of Spooky Hollow Candle 9oz

Some ghost stories are borrowed from old books.

This one followed me home.

Spooky Hollow near Arkansas City, Kansas, was a place I spent plenty of time when I was younger. One night in high school, a couple of friends and I were exploring the hollow after dark. We stopped near a gate and got out of the car to investigate.

Then I heard a dog.

It was barking right at my heels as I ran, close enough that it sounded as though it were chasing me.

But there was nothing there.

Years before my experience, my dad had his own encounter in Spooky Hollow. His story was different. He was chased by an enormous white dog.

I can't tell you what either of us encountered or whether the two experiences were connected. I only know that when Ghost Stories needed a white hound, there was only one hollow he could come from.

Dark, atmospheric Beachwood gives this story the scent of a lonely wooded road after nightfall, with a warm, earthy character that complements the shadowed trees and backroad setting.

The antique-inspired label depicts the legendary hound as I imagine him: impossibly tall, solid white fur against the darkness, standing silently in the road with two unmistakable red eyes.

Candle Care

Trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch before each burn. For the first burn, allow the melted wax to reach the edges of the vessel to encourage an even burn and help prevent tunneling. Keep on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts and flammable materials. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep away from children and pets.
